Kinematics

One of the important disciplines in product development is kinematics or motion study. As a part of mechanics, kinematics deals with the motion of objects. For instance, when developing vehicles, VIRO engineering’s specialists frequently have to deal with moving parts. The fact that the environment itself consists of both fixed and moving parts must be taken into account. The complex interplay of movements that produces this yields can be simulated with special software, so that all possible situations can be reproduced. This allows for example to make optimal use of the available space within a structure. Additionally, kinematics is also used to optimise certain functions. By visualising in small steps how two interrelated movements mutually evolve, it is possible to establish the movements' optimal speeds.
