Certificate of satisfaction from Airbus for VIRO engineering
During the kick-off meeting for a new project on 27 March 2010, Hengelo-based VIRO engineering was awarded a special certificate by European aircraft manufacturer Airbus. This was done as a token of appreciation for the collaboration during a previously delivered project. In this project, Apeldoorn-based Hycom, a specialist in advanced hydraulic components, had approached VIRO engineering to secure the assignment for that project from Airbus by bundling their expertise.The text in VIRO engineering’s certificate credits in particular four members of the VIRO team for the collaboration and successful course of the project. VIRO engineering’s activities included the total design and project management during the engineering phase of a ‘Test Rig’ for testing the drive system of the 'High Lift System' on a new military aircraft, the A400M. Sam Tran, Manager Hydraulic, LABS & Supply and Jens Strahman, Head of Lift Test, Flight Control & Hydraulic at Airbus signed the certificate that was awarded to Theo Wigger, General Manager of VIRO engineering.
"We are extremely happy about this token of appreciation, of course. To realise this test installation, we designed a 50 tonne steel construction in which a complete A400M Flap with drive system can be positioned. The construction needed to be that heavy due to the forces exerted by the drive systems in the wing, and due to the tests that were carried out on the drive system and Flaps. We will pass on the knowledge and experience gained with the A400M wing into the new project: test installations for the A350, a new, energy-efficient passenger aircraft from Airbus”, said VIRO engineering’s Theo Wigger.
